The Mission:

At Soundcheck Finances, we challenge the idea that pursuing a career in the arts means sacrificing financial stability. We believe that with the right systems, habits, and guidance, anyone can take control of their finances, regardless of their career path.

Our mission is to equip artists, freelancers, and small business owners with the tools, education, and support they need to stay organized, navigate their taxes, and build lasting financial confidence.

Max Reed is the founder of Soundcheck Finances

Max began his career in classical music, earning a Bachelor of Music from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory, both in clarinet performance.

While completing his graduate studies, Max developed a strong interest in personal finance and financial systems. He went on to pursue a Graduate Certificate in the Principles of Finance through Harvard University Extension School, building a foundation in financial literacy, accounting, and financial decision-making.

After completing his federal income tax certification through Pronto Tax School, Max founded Soundcheck Finances to support artists, freelancers, and self-employed individuals with tax preparation and financial education.

His mission is to help clients not only stay compliant with their taxes, but also build sustainable financial habits, improve organization, and gain confidence in managing their money.
